Excillum COO David Lindblom answers a few questions about the new MetalJet E1. The MetalJet E1 is Excillum’s latest breakthrough based on our unique metal-jet anode technology, advanced electron optics and state-of-the-art automation. The Excillum MetalJet E1 has a unique specification. At 700 watts, the MetalJet E1 delivers 10 times more X-ray flux across a broad spectral range compared to a 30 W conventional tungsten-solid-anode microfocus source with the same 30 µm spot size. In the spectral range of 24-29 keV where the indium and tin characteristic emission lines are present, the flux advantage is as high as 70 times. In addition, it delivers unprecedented 24 keV indium Kα emission for high-energy analytical applications. This makes it an ideal source for any microfocus application requiring shorter exposure times, higher throughput, or better signal to noise ratio. And, the MetalJet E1 as any of Excillum’s X-ray sources, is designed for straight-forward integration into systems.
Today, there is no alternative in the market that provides MetalJet E1-level of brightness and is designed for 24/7 use in production lines. It can be a true game-changer for inspection and quality assurance in semiconductor, electronics and battery manufacturing.
