Excillum and Pinnacle establish demonstrator for high-speed X-ray inspection

Together with US-based Pinnacle X-Ray Solutions LLC., Excillum continues to push the boundaries with unmatched high-speed CT inspection for non-destructive testing and manufacturing process improvements. The demonstration system in Atlanta, Georgia, is available for customers in industries such as automotive and aerospace to explore manufacturing quality improvements and cost reduction potentials. The capability of this groundbreaking technology enables it to be used for at-line, in-line and end-of-line quality inspection, and to support ramp-up of production volumes in e.g. battery cell manufacturing.

• Unmatched throughput and resolution computed tomography (CT) X-ray system made available for the North American NDT (non-destructive testing) and electric vehicle (EV) battery manufacturing market.

• The tailored system using the Excillum MetalJet X-ray source promises high-speed quality control to reduce recalls and improve yield.

• Made for at-line, in-line and end-of-line inspection, and for ramp-up of production volumes.

Excillum and Pinnacle have established a demonstrator CT system for inspection of batteries and other components using the Excillum MetalJet X-ray technology. The demonstrator, located in Atlanta, GA, will be used to commercialize high-speed CT inspection in collaboration with Pinnacle’s customers.
