Excillum wins E-Mobility Process Innovation award

The E-Mobility Production Awards recognize players who are producing promising approaches in this relatively young and highly competitive market and was presented during the Electric Vehicle Production Days (EPT) in Aachen, Germany. BMW, Volkswagen and Excillum each received awards, with Excillum winning “Process Innovation in the Production of Battery Cells and Systems”.

“Companies from the field of electric mobility can set themselves apart in global competition with cost-effective solutions for mass production and good ideas for the further development of existing processes,” said Dr. Christoph Deutskens, CEO of the co-organizing engineering service provider PEM Motion. “Excillum from Sweden was awarded the most promising “Process Innovation in the Production of Battery Cells and Systems” for its MetalJet as the worldʼs brightest microfocus X-ray source, which enables scans of less than a second per battery cell and thus inline CT scanning in gigafactories.”

“This recognition is not only a huge honor but also a fantastic validation of the work we are doing to push the boundaries of quality control in battery production,” said Emil Espes, Head of Segment at Excillum. “It is exciting to see the industry recognize innovations that focus on raising the quality of battery manufacturing.”
