Excillum and Xenocs partners in technology to advance research based on SAXS.
Researchers continuously strive to improving our lives. Some of that research requires analytical techniques which depend on extremely bright X-rays which traditionally are available at synchrotron light source facilities. However, there are limited such facilities in the world and there is more demand than availability. Hence researchers benefit from technology that enables them to do their research without synchrotron X-rays. The Excillum MetalJet X-ray source can power instruments to provide synchrotron-like possibilities. Our partner Xenocs has enabled a team at Diamond Light Source in the UK to accelerate advances in a range of applications, including food science, based on the SAXS technique (Small-Angle X-ray Scattering). Pharma, biology, and material sciences are other disciplines that benefit from the Excillum MetalJet X-ray sources.
