Ptychography has remained an application for high brightness sources like synchrotrons or XFELs. Recently, Dr Darren Batey at Diamond Light Source, used the Excillum MetalJet to perform the first ptychography measurements in a lab. The group used a single photon counting detector with spatial resolution and spot size of 5 microns to produce phase images.

Figures:

b) Phase image of the Siemens star test target with a reconstructed pixel size of 116 nm.
